random thoughts

The kids didn't have school today. Teacher in-service. I think we've been to school five days in a row twice since school started. Makes me crazy.

We are hosting marriage circle tomorrow night. I have to come up with a topic. Hmmm. Something different. Will make lemon bars for dessert.

I need to clean my house. Have been slowly, doing that today. I have no motivation. No energy. Would rather lie on the couch and watch the tube all day. And I don't watch much tv anymore. Must be a funk.

I think it's cool that Obama won the Nobel. Whether you like him or not, he's hard working and honest. So refreshing.

Roman Polanski. He's a scum bag and yet we continue to give him attention. If we can't prosecute, then let's erase him from society and stop giving him attention.

I need a hamburger. A big one. With fries.

Go Dodgers! I do cheer for the Mariners but I really do bleed Dodger blue!

I find Kate & Jon irritating. Another matter that should go away.

I've been doing the 30-day shred. It's killing my left knee so I stopped. I think I need to do something different than the squats. I'm pretty sure that's what's causing the pain. Jillian Michaels can be a bit annoying. I might turn the sound off. But I do feel stronger so something has to be said for that.

The bathroom needs to be cleaned. The kids' bathroom. Ugh! I clean it at least twice a week. Even if the toilet bowl were 4' wide, Buster would still miss. When do boys start paying attention?

Wish I were in Napa with Susan and Chris. They are two of my most favorite bloggers. Great women. Good moms. Interesting women, solid writers. And their families...so much fun.

Well internet, have a nice weekend.

vampires

Vegetarian vampires??? Really? I'm about 1/3 of the way through book 4 of the Twilight series. Decent storyline. Dialogue moves. But vegetarian vampires? Instead of eating people, they eat mountain lions and grizzly bears. Perhaps Meyers missed that day in science.

I'm not a vampire fan. I would not have read this series if it weren't for the prodding of some friends. I enjoyed book 1. I feared too much teenage angst in book 2 but it wasn't as profound as inferred. Book 3 was okay. Events seem to drag a bit. But overall, a decent series. I'm not sorry that I read it.

But I don't think I'll be pursuing any other vampire series. I slept through "Interview with a Vampire" and that was back when I still liked Tom Cruise. Guess it isn't my genre.

However, vegetarian vampires do make an interesting story.

jumping on the bandwagon

After several attempts at starting a blog, I am determined to get the conversations inside my head down in black and white. Perhaps then I can keep track of what's going on? Maybe. Maybe not. But it's worth a shot.
